Could We See a New Chevy Crossover Soon?

Gift, presentation etc

Speculation about a new Chevy crossover has the automotive community buzzing. At the moment, Chevrolet offers three different crossover vehicles to fit drivers of different lifestyles and budgets. There is the compact Trax, midsize Equinox, and the spacious Traverse. The Equinox brings a simplistic balance of incredible fuel economy, convenience, style, and performance. There have been rumors that the Equinox could be experiencing some changes in the coming years, meaning there will be space for a new Chevy crossover to potentially join the lineup.

Midsize Crossover Gap

GM is currently thinking of downsizing the latest Equinox so it becomes more competitive with similar models. The new crossover would be extremely competitive with the Ford Edge and the Nissan Murano because of its size and overall abilities. Because of the possibility of a smaller upcoming Equinox, the once middle vehicle would move down in the lineup and leave space for another crossover.

New Crossover Platform

The new crossover gap would most likely make space for a vehicle that is larger than the Equinox yet smaller than a Traverse. Expect the new model to be a short wheel-base version of the Traverse—it will still have three-row seating for plenty of passenger space; however, the new crossover would have a smaller build. A smaller crossover with the same amount of passenger space means parking becomes easier while the vehicle is more efficient and more versatile.

When the New Model is Expected

The new crossover is expected to be in Chevy stores in the later part of 2017. Further details of the new crossover are scarce from Chevrolet and other sources. Currently, the tentative new crossover has not been named yet.
